HENCH-NEWS - 6/23/00
So no gnews is good gnews, right? In this case, yes! HENCHMYN is still going strong after 5 years (we can't believe it ourselves.) All members of the band are now living and working in Los Angeles and we're playing a bunch of shows in L.A. and Santa Barbara. For instance, the FIJI Islander, where we got to play with FACE TO FACE and others! By the way, speaking of playing a lot of shows, make sure to check out the Upcoming Shows Page to see when HENCHMYN will be in your neck of the woods...
Bass Greg was the last Hench-man to make the move down South, and he's enjoying it a lot more than Sacramento, where he was before. Click here for some pictures of Greg chillin' in L.A. He just moved into his own place, after 2 months of crashing on Adam and Vinny's couch.
We're also still working on our next CD, which will hopefully be out before the end of the year (we know we've been promising this one for a while, but hey, these things take time!) The CD has a tentative title, but we're not gonna spoil the fun just yet; it will have somewhere between 13 and 16 brand skanin' new HENCHMYN songs on it for your dancing pleasure.
In other news, congratulations to Dan "El Habenero" Hazlett for recently getting his Masters degree ("So what, you my master now?!?") in Saxophone Performance from U.C.L.A.! That guy's gonna be a star, were sure...
We also want to congratulate Trumpet Hector and his fiance Alicia on their upcoming wedding! Hector's the first Hench-man to tie the knot, so we're kicking back and letting him test the water and get back to us on the subject...
Adam, Vinny and Greg had a party to celebrate Adam's 25th birthday and Greg's move to L.A. and here are some more pictures from that night. Everyone was very inebriated and had lots of fun.
Alright, that's about it for now. Stay tuned for more Hench-news in the future and be sure to come up and talk to us if you're ever at a show; we won't bite (well, unless you ask us to)...
