HENCH-NEWS - 2/10/99

Lately, you might have seen our "Help Wanted" ads on this site and on alt.music.ska; well, after swimming through piles of resumes (yeah, right), we are proud to announce that there are now two new members of the HENCHMYN family and to the H.E.P. horn section in particular! For the past couple months, Jeremy Nance (bass trombone) and Dan Hazlett (alto saxophone) have been jamming with us... They even played a gig with us at a pre-CD release party for the new Fishbowl Records compilation after only 3 practices... Needless to say, these guys kick ass and make the rest of us look like musical pansies! By the way, there will be new photos from that show on the Photo Gallery page soon.

Even cooler, Dan and Jeremy are already contributing to the writing of new songs! That's right, there will actually be new HENCHMYN songs being played at shows from now on! And with the rate we're writing these puppies, we should have a new CD out before this Summer! Isn't that exciting?!? Well, I'm excited about it and I hope you are too. And speaking of new releases, Fishbowl Records just released it's first compilation entitled, "Welcome to Santa Barbara; Now Go Home!", which features lots of cool ska and punk bands like Sick Shift, Reiver Fenix, The Upbeat, the Mad Caddies, Outahand, Ill Repute, the Pharmaceutical Bandits, and you guessed it, HENCHMYN just to name a few. We will be selling this comp. for a measly price at upcoming shows, and it will be available in SoCal stores soon. And if you really can't wait, go to www.fishbowlrecords.com and order it right now.

In other news, Brayton just started student-teaching in San Diego - it's hard to believe that guy's gonna be responsible for the wellfare of Diego youth! It's great! Greg is still up in Sacto and Vinny in Fres-neck, even though we are constantly pleading with them to make the move to SoCal. I'm confident it will happen soon. Let's see, what else is happening... Oh yeah! Todd and I (Adam) went to see Fear Factory the other night to relive our hesher days; IT KICKED ASS!!! Hector and I are going to see The Specials this Saturday (woo-hoo!) Um, o.k., I think that's about it for now, but if I think of anything else, I'll be sure to let you all know. Thanks for supporting HENCHMYN and ska music in general! Come see us live!
