Dan "El Habenero" Hazlett joined HENCHMYN and the H.E.P. horn section late in 1998, after Chris left the band to go sell video cameras in Northern California. Dan responded to a personal ad that Nichols placed in an adult magazine, and low and behold, it turned out he could play sax too! But seriously, folks, Dan obtained a Masters of Music at U.C.L.A. (go Bruins!) where he studied saxophone performance (hence his ringer status in the band). It was on campus that he saw the flyer Adam had put up looking for horn players (it turned out that he and Jeremy were the only people to respond). After graduating, Dan moved back home to Denver and taught middle school for a year. The strain of being away from us sick bastards was just too much for him, however, so he moved back. He is currently teaching elementary school, after getting his California teaching credential and giving private sax and clarinet lessons to the celebrities (and their children).
